Autonomous Solutions Inc builds autonomous systems for fleets operating in demanding, high-risk, and repetitive environments. Founded in 2000, we've grown into one of the largest privately held robotics companies in the world, with deployments across heavy construction, agriculture, logistics, and landscaping. Our work is guided by seven core values: Simplicity, Safety, Transparency, Humility, Attention to Detail, Autonomy, and Growth. Being privately held means good ideas move quickly, ownership is real, and the work you do here shows up in the world.
As an AI Engineer (Guidance Navigation and Control), you will apply machine learning and AI techniques to guidance, navigation, and control systems within ASI's robotics platforms. You will develop intelligent GNC algorithms, integrate AI models into vehicle dynamics and sensor systems, and deliver high-performance autonomous control capabilities. Your work spans algorithm development and model training through real-time deployment in safety-critical field environments, with close collaboration across robotics, controls, perception, and software teams.
Responsibilities
Develop AI-driven GNC algorithms that improve autonomy, stability, and real-time decision making.
Integrate machine learning models with vehicle dynamics, sensor systems, and simulation environments.
Embed AI-based GNC capabilities into software products and platform-level services.
Convert trained models into production-ready components for GNC use cases.
Tune algorithms for real-time performance, low latency, and reliability in safety-critical environments.
Test and validate AI-based GNC systems through simulation, HIL setups, and field testing.
Monitor deployed systems and refine algorithms to improve control quality over time.
Collaborate with robotics engineers, controls specialists, data scientists, and software developers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of GNC engineering experience including controls and localization algorithm design.
Experience developing and deploying AI/ML models for robotics or dynamic systems.
Proficiency in Python, C++, C, or ROS.
Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar ML frameworks.
Solid foundation in control theory, vehicle dynamics, or navigation algorithms.
Experience integrating models into real-time systems and tuning for latency and performance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate system behavior into technical solutions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.
Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.
Ability to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required.
