Autonomous Solutions Inc builds autonomous systems for fleets operating in demanding, high-risk, and repetitive environments. Founded in 2000, we've grown into one of the largest privately held robotics companies in the world, with deployments across heavy construction, agriculture, logistics, and landscaping. Our work is guided by seven core values: Simplicity, Safety, Transparency, Humility, Attention to Detail, Autonomy, and Growth. Being privately held means good ideas move quickly, ownership is real, and the work you do here shows up in the world.
As an AI Engineer IV (Robotic Path Planning), you will develop AI-driven planning and decision-making systems that guide autonomous behavior across Autonomous Solutions Inc's robotic platforms. You will build intelligent planning algorithms, integrate them with motion planning, control, and simulation modules, and ensure safe, reliable autonomous operation in real-world conditions. Your work spans algorithm development through production deployment, with a focus on real-time performance, low-latency decision making, and compatibility with perception, control, and safety systems.
Responsibilities
Develop AI-based planning and decision models driving robot path selection and task execution.
Integrate planning algorithms with motion planning, control systems, and simulation environments.
Embed planning models into production systems compatible with perception, control, and safety modules.
Convert trained planning models into production-ready services, APIs, or embedded libraries.
Tune algorithms for real-time performance, low latency, and safety-critical reliability.
Test and validate planning systems using simulation, HIL setups, and field deployments.
Monitor deployed systems and refine models to continuously improve safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with robotics engineers, controls specialists, and software developers on system integration.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
8+ years of software engineering experience using Python, C++, and ROS.
3+ years experience developing AI or ML models for autonomous decision making or planning systems.
Hands-on experience with motion planning, pathfinding, decision modeling, or robotics planning.
Strong understanding of ML techniques, data modeling, and model deployment workflows.
Experience integrating AI models into real-time systems and tuning for performance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate system behavior into technical solutions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.
Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.
Ability to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required.
