Job Description

Applied AI Engineer

$200,000 – $250,000 + Equity

Austin, Texas (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-funded, high-growth Web3/FinTech company building next-generation infrastructure for institutional finance. Backed by top-tier investors and led by senior figures from Ethereum and Wall Street, this is a rare chance to join early and help define how modern engineering teams use AI in production.

They’re now hiring an Applied AI Engineer to embed AI deeply into how the entire organisation builds, ships, and operates software.

This is not an AI research role, it’s a hands-on engineering position focused on applying cutting-edge AI tools to real, mission-critical systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your mission is to dramatically increase engineering impact by designing AI-powered workflows, tooling, and infrastructure.

You will:

  • Build AI-driven engineering workflows to accelerate delivery and maintain high code quality

  • Contribute directly to production code across core systems

  • Design internal AI tooling, agents, and orchestration layers

  • Partner with product and engineering to shape AI-powered features

  • Experiment continuously with new models, tools, and workflows

  • Become the internal go-to expert on applied AI

What They’re Looking For

You’re a strong engineer first, obsessed with what AI makes possible.

You’ll likely have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

  • Proven experience owning production systems

  • Heavy daily usage of AI tools (Claude, GPT, Cursor, Copilot, etc.)

  • Strong system design instincts

  • Experience in early-stage or fast-moving environments

  • A portfolio of AI experiments, tools, or automation projects

Tech & Environment

  • Modern full-stack engineering

  • AI agent orchestration

  • CI/CD & internal developer tooling

  • Institutional-grade financial systems

  • Highly collaborative, in-person culture

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Career-defining scope in applied AI

  • Work directly with elite engineers and leadership

  • Shape how modern teams use AI in production

  • High ownership, zero bureaucracy

  • Build systems that will likely be open-sourced and widely adopted

Interview Process

  1. CTO Interview (30 mins)

  2. Head of Operations (30 mins)

  3. Technical Deep Dive

  4. Final Interview with President

If you’re an engineer who lives and breathes AI and wants to define the future of how software is built – this is one of the strongest roles on the market right now.
