As an Applied AI Engineer, you will own the end-to-end development of AI-native product experiences that redefine how people interact with their healthcare. This is a high-ownership, product-facing role where you’ll ship production AI systems used daily by real users.
You’ll work at the intersection of LLMs, product engineering, and complex healthcare workflows, building systems that reason, act, and scale in production.
AI-Powered Care Triage: Build intelligent experiences that help users understand symptoms and navigate to the right level of care (ER, Urgent Care, Primary Care), preventing unnecessary visits and reducing out-of-pocket costs.
Always-On Care Partner: Develop conversational AI that helps users understand lab results, diagnoses, and treatment plans—providing 24/7 support with clarity and empathy.
Proactive Health Engine: Create systems that analyze claims and behavioral data to drive personalized outreach for screenings, medication adherence, and preventive care.
Core AI Platform: Advance internal AI capabilities across prompt orchestration, context engineering, retrieval systems, agent workflows, and evaluation frameworks.
Experience shipping production AI-powered products end-to-end
Strong product mindset with a track record of owning 0→1 features
Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications in production
Strong backend experience with Python and relational databases (Postgres)
Experience designing LLM agents, workflows, or autonomous systems
Pragmatic approach to LLM safety, reliability, and evaluation (guardrails, red-teaming, latency/cost tradeoffs)
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, early-stage environments with high ownership
Fluency using AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot)
Experience with TypeScript and React
Familiarity deploying AI workloads on AWS or similar cloud platforms
Background in healthcare, fintech, insurance, or other regulated domains
High ownership and autonomy from day one
Direct responsibility for core AI product experiences

Base Salary: $210,000 – $230,000
