Description

The Cognitive and Generative AI Engineering team, part of the Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM) organization, builds innovative AI solutions that help scale AI adoption across Navy Federal Credit Union.


Our team operates the AI Center for Enablement, where we design, develop, and support cutting‑edge AI systems for real business use cases. We work with large language models (LLMs) and other advanced AI technologies to solve complex problems, create reusable components, and make AI accessible across the enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with AI Engineering tasks and projects.  
  • Provide support to assigned department; may work on small projects or portions of larger projects
  • Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
  • Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
  • Perform research and analysis; may include quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority
  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support
  • Provide support in functional areas of the credit union
  • May provide direct member service in high volume situations
  • Process and update data in automated systems; may generate and analyze reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned 


Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science or Data Science
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python
  • Adaptability to new technologies
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills and a commitment to self-development
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  •  

Desired: 

  • Understanding of Generative-AI concepts and Large Language Models (LLMs), including their applications and limitations
  • Familiarity with Prompt Engineering, AI search techniques, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering, APIs, and cloud development
