We are seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the development of next-generation AI-driven systems for personalized visual content and product recommendation. This role focuses on leveraging advanced computer vision and machine learning techniques to intelligently analyze, score, and recommend images based on both aesthetic and behavioral insights. You will design scalable pipelines that combine semantic image understanding, metadata extraction, and behavioral modeling to create hyper-personalized user experiences. The position involves hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance across cross-functional teams. Accountabilities:

  • Develop and deploy computer vision models, including CNNs and transformer-based architectures, for image analysis, tagging, and scoring.
  • Build scalable pipelines to process large volumes of images and generate structured metadata.
  • Design and implement recommendation systems that integrate behavioral data with image intelligence for personalized user experiences.
  • Lead experimentation and A/B testing frameworks to optimize recommendation relevance and engagement.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and code contributions to cross-functional teams.
  • Define AI system architecture and ensure seamless integration with core applications.
  • Drive strategic decisions on data acquisition, model training, deployment, and monitoring.



Requirements
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5+ years in AI/ML-focused roles.
  • Deep expertise in computer vision techniques: CNNs, vision transformers, facial recognition, object detection, image classification, and embeddings.
  • Strong experience with recommendation systems, collaborative filtering, and transformer-based personalization models.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
  • Experience deploying ML models at scale using cloud platforms and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, AWS, GCP).
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives from concept to production.
  • Solid understanding of ML lifecycle best practices, including data management, model evaluation, explainability, and observability.
  • MS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
