This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of advanced AI platforms that transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights. You will design and implement scalable AI systems, including generative AI and language models, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. The position emphasizes technical leadership, mentorship, and end-to-end ownership of AI initiativesโfrom research and prototyping to production deployment. You will influence architecture decisions, optimize ML pipelines, and ensure robust, compliant, and efficient AI infrastructure. Accountabilities:
- Architect and implement scalable AI platforms and systems powering organizational solutions.
- Develop advanced AI models, including language models, generative AI, and embedding techniques, tailored for specific domains.
- Build robust ML pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, and evaluation.
- Scale AI infrastructure, including logging, telemetry, and evaluation frameworks for GenAI products.
- Lead critical AI projects, driving innovation, benchmarking, and development productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, product, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Mentor and coach team members, promoting best practices in architecture, coding, and agile methodologies.
- Influence architecture decisions and optimize processes for high-quality, efficient AI delivery.
- Ensure operational readiness, security, and compliance standards are maintained across AI systems.
Requirements- 3+ years of ML/AI engineering experience in high-growth or equivalent academic research environments.
- 3+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with Databricks, Mosaic AI Gateway, or similar Data+AI platforms.
- Expertise in language modeling, generative AI, fine-tuning, evaluation benchmarks, agentic workflows, RAG, SQL agents, and MCP.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end model and system development, from research to deployment and monitoring.
- Experience designing scalable, distributed systems handling large-scale data (10sโ100s TB).
- Proven ability to lead projects, provide technical guidance, and influence stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and deployment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent roles (product, project management, client delivery, operations).
Preferred (not required): Exposure to Snowflake, FHIR, or healthcare data systems.
