 Job Description:

About the Role

We're looking for an AI Engineer to help build the core agent systems that power autonomous financial audits. This is a high-ownership role with responsibility from architecture through deployment. We want someone who works with intensity, fits the culture, and brings a strong background in AI agents and full-stack programming.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement complex AI agent systems (planning, memory, tool use, recovery)
  • Build fault-tolerant, end-to-end features that integrate cleanly with the broader codebase
  • Split and execute workloads processing ~100GB+ of data across processes and threads efficiently
  • Debug agent failures, edge cases, and performance bottlenecks in production
  • Rapidly learn new audit workflows and ship agent improvements in hours, not weeks

Compensation

  • Base: $150k to $170K (flexibility for exceptional candidates)
  • Equity: Yes
  • Location: On-site 5 days/week in San Francisco

About the Company

Early-stage startup automating SOX audits for Fortune 500 companies — turning weeks of manual work into minutes. Projecting $2M ARR by June. Seed-funded ($2.5M) by a top-tier VC. You'll work directly with co-founders and have real ownership over agent architecture and product direction.

Qualifications

  • AI agent systems experience (planning, memory, tool use, fault recovery)
  • Full-stack programming
  • Large-scale data processing (~100GB+ across processes/threads)

  • Production debugging - agent failures, edge cases, performance bottlenecks

Why is This a Great Opportunity

Design and ship complex AI agents that actually work in production - planning, reasoning, recovering. You own it from whiteboard to deployment.
